Because it is highly bioactive and skin-penetrating, we have chosen the peptide Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 to stimulate collagen synthesis and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Wrinkle Reduction without Skin Irritation

Also known as “Matrixyl,” Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4 is a relatively small molecule that easily penetrates deep into skin tissue. Researchers found that when added to the culture of fibroblasts (the key skin cells), palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 stimulated the synthesis of the key constituents of the skin matrix: collagen, elastin and glucosamnoglycans. How exactly palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 did that remains unclear, although a number of theories exist. Several research studies exhibited that palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 is at least as effective against wrinkles as retinol but does not cause skin irritation, which is a common side-effect of retinoids.

In the skin, hyaluronic acid is responsible for capturing water, in turn maintaining the smoothness and plumpness of the skin. When hyaluronic acid is depleted, skin can become dehydrated and lose elasticity, which accentuates lines and furrows.
